If you're feeling overwhelmed, exhausted and self-critical...
Are you someone who's often really harsh on themselves, doubts their decisions or compares themselves to others? Perhaps the one who others rely on, or the one who holds everything together in work, with family or in relationships? Yet deep down, you're feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, stuck or disconnected, no matter what you do.
I often support people who:
-
Feel exhausted from constantly needing to keep going or hold everything together at work, in relationships, or for those around them.
-
Feel a strong sense of responsibility for others, often putting other people’s needs before their own.
-
Find themselves overthinking, doubting decisions, or not feeling like they're doing enough, no matter how much they try.
About Rhian
I’m Rhian, a BACP registered counsellor in Marlow and founder of Seymour Counselling. I can appreciate what it can be like to feel stuck in a cycle of self-doubt and overthinking. The feeling like you should be doing more or working harder through things, but never quite seeming to feel good enough, no matter how hard you try.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent many years in a busy corporate career where I appeared fine on the outside, but often felt overwhelmed, stressed and self-critical on the inside.
I come to this work as a fellow human, who hears how hard it can be to ask for support, and who believes in the impact of being truly heard and understood.

Counselling with Rhian
Starting counselling can feel daunting and I appreciate how worrying it can be to take the first step in reaching out for support. Counselling with me isn't about needing to say the right thing or have everything figured out before you start.
Instead, I offer a space for you to talk about whatever you're going through, and it will be met with care and compassion. I won't judge you in what you share and I work in a way that follows your pace. There's absolutely nothing you have to say before you're ready.
I'll really listen to you with what's been happening and what might be holding you back, to support in reconnecting with what matters to you. You can bring all the messiness and swear words, nothing needs to be right, we're human and this is your time for you.
Areas of Counselling Support
You might not have a clear view on what you're experiencing and this it completely ok.
You just know that something doesn't feel right, you feel stuck in some way or just not like you.
Below are some of the areas of counselling I support with, which you may recognise or connect with.
